Org. Charts

Present your company structure with clarity using the Org. Charts module in Optics. Easily build and display team hierarchies on any Confluence page to give a clear visual overview of reporting lines. It's ideal for onboarding, team directories, and helping everyone understand how the organization is structured.

Insert Org. Chart

Follow these steps to insert Org. Charts module to your Confluence page:

  1. Open the page you want to edit, or create a new one.

  2. In edit mode, click the ‘+' icon in the toolbar or press '/' on your keyboard to open the module menu.

  3. Type "Org. Charts" or "Optics" in the search bar and select "Org. Charts (by Optics)" or "Optics" from the list to open a configuration dialogue.

  4. Add users and customize it using the live preview.

  5. Once you're happy with the setup, click Add to page to insert the module. To cancel, simply click Cancel, and the module won’t be added.

Configuration

When the Manual Org. Charts module dialog opens, a live preview is shown with an empty screen, and users need to be added manually.

Layout

The Layout tab defines how pages is presented, offering options to control how all items appear within the module. Available options may vary depending on the selected template.

Display Options

The display settings allow selection from several views to best match the desired presentation style. Available options include Card, and List

Styling

Styling options include corner radius and line color. Available styling options are defined in the Optics Style Guide to maintain consistency across all formatting modules.

Content

The Content tab Defines which people appear in the org chart through manual selection. This method offers full control over the structure and relationships shown.

Manual selection supports selecting specific users, Confluence groups, and Cosmos Collections (available only if Cosmos is installed and active). Selecting a group or collection automatically includes all members, while still allowing individual users to be removed.
